CROOK POINT BRIDGE

Providence, Rhode Island

The concept consists of widening the width of the bridge to reveal a small park in the middle of the Seekonk River. It would provide an intimate setting to absorb the history of Providence's railroad infrastructure and native Indian origins. The bike track, being a prominent feature, would extend its course onto the bridge and become part of the sculpture as it overlooks the park and the surrounding neighborhood. The exterior takes a bowl-like shape that would feature colored lighting to illuminate the early night fall in Rhode Island, making a statement as a landmark.
